"This world"

In the Nirvana song All Apologies, the lyrics "all in all is all we are" is a great description of the unity of all living things. All of life is made up of same "things." I have experienced the true awareness of cosmic energy and interconnectedness between all. We have the power of choice, and with this power comes great responsibility. Although, in "this world," every action has an equal and opposite reaction, we have the power of choice, somewhere after stimulus and before response, to make positive conscious decisions.  I am not quite sure if negative could, or will be, completely eliminated in "this world," but we can set out to consciously make positive decisions.   If we make a positive choice, we set into motion a positive and negative effect. If we make a negative decision, we set into motion a negative and positive effect. This is solely speaking of “this world” and the laws of nature. Maya, which is the word for nature in India, is the greatest form of all suffering a human may endure. There have been many examples of people doing the impossible according to the laws of nature. By making a positive decision we will be limiting the negativity in the world one choice at a time. Imagine if the entire world made a positive decision in unison.

Work

A lot of times we confuse work solely with the direct relationship between action and timely monetary compensation. Websters definition is as follows:
1.) Activity in which one exerts strength or faculties to do or preform something.
2.) Sustained physical or mental effort to overcome obstacles and achieve an objective or result.
3.) The labor, task , or duty that is one's accustomed means of livelihood

One out of the three mention livelihood. None of them mention monetary compensation. What do you call work? Is your current job your only action of work? Do you call everything work?

Ultimately we are what we do, so get out there and work on something meaningful.

Some Words

Regardless of the increasingly incessant  magnetic pulls of amplitude and/or attraction. We will propagate through all!

I see the love being spread around
I see the light shining down

Hey hey that's what I say
He he that's what I see

Those walls of our mind are aspects to unite and overcome. I love you.

Persistance

Life will through all kinds of curve balls and hit you blindside in all different ways. How do you embrace all the bends and curvatures?

1.) Do not prepare, plan, or try to be ready
2.) Just do what you truly want to be doing, and do that thing all the time. We are what we do
3.) Go with the flow
4.) Incessantly become more flexible
5.) Clear the mind through meditation
6.) Take responsibility for life as your creation

Tired

I have been feeling rather tired. Like I cannot get fully rested. Even when I get sufficient amounts of sleep my body is letting me know that something is up. It's like the water doesn't actually hydrate me and i awake parched and almost hung over or extremely groggy. My breathing has been a bit constricted and my spine is out of alinement. I am taking proactive measures toward addressing and solving these petty issues of slight discomfort.

Extremist vs. Realist

It's extreme to say its realistic. Real is what we make of something that isn't. It is truly divine to live and die and ponder whether there is more or less. In this moment I am glad.

Do It

Just do it. Regardless of what you want. Just do it! Regardless of what you think. Just do it! Regardless of why you are going to. Just do it! Regardless of the planning involved. Just do it! After you have thought about everything. Just do it! Before you think. Just do it!

I think that's it, that will do it!

Following Through

With out Follow through the ball stops rolling. The most important part of your golf swing is the follow through. The most important part of baking is the follow through. We could use all the best ingredients but if we didn't put the goods in the oven at a certain temperature and take it out in a timely fashion it would not be good. After making it a point to go and do something it's imperative to follow through. It's an easy concept to understand and is also overlooked in many occasions. What are you following through with? How could following through help you get some things done? What types of methods are you using to insure you follow through?

Getting It Done

Sometimes its not about how close to perfection you came while accomplishing your goal. Sometimes its not about whether or not you could have done better. Sometimes its not about whether or not you put all your energy into it. Sometimes it just about getting it done. Most things that we do we could come back to later and make better if we so chose, but if we didn't get it done then there would be nothing to come back to. So go out there and get it done.

Planning "It" and Doing "It'

I have a habit of planning my work before I do the work. As my father always said, " plan your work, work you plan." This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it also has its downsides. To get something done you must actually do it. Simply planning to do something doesn't mean that it will get done. I have so many papers that have gone to the recycle bin later in time that have my to do lists on them. So how do we find the happy medium. It would be great if we all could just hop out of the womb in western society and completely live in the moment. Here are some suggestions that work for me.

1.) Start small. This has been my biggest mistake in the past. Every time I would sit down to write a to do list it would consist of at least 10 things I need to do right away

2.) Prioritize. This is the single most important aspect to pre-doing. Looking at what needs to be done and establishing importance.

3.) Implement. This is the most important aspect to doing. When the plan is finished, start doing. For instance, if meditation is on your daily to do list then meditate and cross it off. It doesn't matter if you know how or even if you think you could do it better if you did research first, just do it. Meditate for 3 minutes. After doing so, cross it off your list and if you still would like to research more on meditation add that to your list.

4.) Create a control and assess. In order to create a control you will need to do whatever it is you want to do consecutively. So again if meditation is on your daily to do then you would want to meditate successfully for lets say 3 weeks at least 3 minutes a day. First of all, after crossing it off of your to do list for 21 days will be extremely self satisfying, but more importantly you have created a habit and now can assess the habit.

Hope this helps and have a blessed day!

Choices

Life has many ways of presuming itself to be in total control of our every move and thought. Nature has specific laws that when applied will predict outcomes. So with all these absolute laws where does one stand? One has the power of choice. Between stimulus and response, is a choice. One could never go wrong honing and exercising the power of choice. Urges are also something to become familiar with. Urges are simply experiencing a want for something. The key word there/here is experiencing. For example, I had the urge this morning to have a cup of coffee. In that moment I experienced the urge, want, and/or longing for coffee. Next I observed my urge. I said to myself (talking with oneself is a key part to observing ones own urges), "really....you truly would like to experience drinking coffee, or are you just wanting or longing for coffee. Right about now is the time we define experiencing. Experiencing has to do with the senses. In human nature we possess 5 senses. Taste, smell, touch, sight, and hearing. I continued my conversation with myself. "So, you would like to taste coffee as it runs down your throat. So, you would like to see the coffee grounds put into the coffee maker, see the coffee come out black, and then lighten it's color with a preferred cream. So, you would like to smell the aroma, hear the top of the coffee can pop off, and the coffee drip and gargle. So, you would like to touch the warm glass of the coffee cup before ingestion." Urges become powerless when we step aside and analyze. The easiest and best way to Step Aside and Analyze is to think, or in my case have a conversation with myself, about what the urge truly means in comparison to our senses. Then make the choice, as I did, to enjoy the joyous sound and sight, wondrous aroma, warming feeling, and fantastic taste. Cheers

Honor

Honor is one of those words used by many who will say "its an honor to meet you." Do they really mean it's an honor? Do they even know what honor means. I know I have said that phrase many a time. I also know that when I said that I didn't mean it. Most of the time I didn't even look in the others' eyes. In America one can get away with using words without expression or sincere tone. Now I am a little different having learned on my own. Showing respect with honor is something that is passed on from generation to generation, or it is something that takes time while one breaks previous instilled habits and learns anew. It's an honor to be alive and be blessed with those in my life. It's an honor to be living in free country. It's an honor to be able to learn from all different types of people, religions, and views.

The Point

The point to this blog is to start something daily and continue doing it daily. I'm not a firm believer in planning out every little detail in life. I started playing the guitar about 8 years ago and doing so helped me realize something extremely important about life. The important realization is "doing something" for a "certain" amount of time each day. At first I was a believer that 15 minutes a day was sufficient. I had read a post by Leo Babauta and it was about meditation. He talked about how we always put so much pressure on ourselves to start new things with a "GungHo" attitude which usually begins to add more stress than benefit. In his post he spoke of meditating for 2 minutes a day. This is great because his point is to establish a habit. That is what this blog is about. It is about establishing a habit of blogging.
